April
15th - Don't know about you, but modern life keeps
me pretty busy. Immersed in the normal mindset, there
is just too much stuff going on to commit to something
like this on a regular basis. Not only is it not practical,
it's out of the way and fully at odds with my normal
life flow.
This
is reality according to the everyday mind.
But
if, in the moments of real clarity or deep honesty,
one asks themselves what really matters -- I mean what
really, really matters most, most everyone will concede
that it's love.
To
do what we're doing is to make love and light, truth
and sincerity, human belonging, priority #1. It goes
against everything the practical mind might think.
It's
a waste of time; it's out of the way; it costs money
to get there; must take time away from work or other
things; it just doesn't make sense.
It
doesn't make sense... until that is, you ask the deepest
of questions. From there, it makes perfect sense.
So
the question we might all want to ask ourselves is:
from what level of truth are we operating? If it isn't
from the very core, are we not living some kind of lie?
The
search for truth is uncomfortable. It opens our eyes
to a blinding light that hurts as it exposes all of
our ignorance and falsities. It forces us to give up
the comforts that have brought us happiness, at the
expense of things that have suffered through our neglect.
Ultimately,
it's your decision. Your longterm happiness will depend
on the choices you make. Pursuing the Divine is like
working on a neglected car or like cleaning a dirty
bathroom. It's hard, unpleasant, soul challenging work,
but ultimately its a matter of living with the neglect
or living with health and inspiration. Denial is a tempting
option, but sooner or later, you have to do The Work.
There's just no other way.
