April
6th - When you meditate, or pray deeply, eventually
you connect with a place of truth and purity - a place
distinctly different from where almost all of us normally
operate. From this place, we can see our minds as separate.
Normally our awareness is so inter-meshed with the mind
that trying to see it is itself just a mind game. From
this pure state of awareness, it is clear how powerful
and pervasive our minds actually are, and how they so
easily steer us away from the core truth of who we are
- divine beings.
The
mind is the thing that takes people to war, that seeks
power, that justifies it, even the thing that seeks
peace. After day six, we still haven't attained real
peace, though we are closer. My mind thinks about how
rational this endeavor is, how it might make me look
like a fool, how so few people have supported it. These
are all legitimate thoughts, but on the quest for true
peace, these are just mind games.
If
the intention is to really find peace, then this mind
has to be dropped. Like we mentioned in the write-up,
the success of this event is not based on the numbers
of participants, but on the love and sincerity each
person brings. As we get closer to the center, it becomes
apparent how this was stated correctly, but not fully
believed.
Peace
is not about numbers, it is about communion. Having
understood this, we are much closer. It's funny though
how quickly the mind forgets such important things and
leads us so easily astray.
