April
5th - It's becoming perfectly clear that the public
has no interest in this, which leaves us with two choices:
a) stop, or b) continue. Sitting out with our signs
at this point is really more of an exercise in humility
than a genuine push to make this movement happen. Yet
it's a wonderful lesson in humility! :)
Just
because an idea is not widely received, doesn't mean
that it is not right. If you take a look at most of
the ideas that are widely received, they are often pretty
bad. There are two realities that are occurring simultaneously.
The first is the external - we are a small group not
making much of an impact. The second is internal - we
are fully alive and fully engaged, pushing with the
wholeness of our beings to bring beautiful and loving
change. Sure we could give up, but what would that do
to our spirits? Would we join the multitudes of helpless
or clueless observers and feel ok because we are acting
more rationally?
There
are wars going on in the world. The problems with the
United States and Iraq are just manifestations of the
real wars taking place within our own psyches. These
wars have no winners, only losers - even the victorious
are left with deep inner guilt and insecurity for an
inevitable power shift. This is not real happiness.
In order to find real peace, at some point, you must
step off the battlefield and plant the seeds of true
peace. If it comes in the form of a failed idea, so
be it.
As
long as the love and sincerity within are genuine, these
seeds now being planted will someday reap a glorious
harvest.
