April
3rd - Everyone's caught in a dream. But what many
people don't realize is that they themselves are forces
within that dreamscape. The current dream is one of
war. If you ask me, it's kind of a bad dream. There's
really not much good about it. From one perspective
or another, it sucks just about everyone into believing
that killing and blowing things up are good things.
But they're not. In fact they are horrocious (horrocious
= horrible + atrocious). :)
It's
at times like these that it's a good idea to change
the dream. In fact, it doesn't take a war at all. Every
moment of life is a good enough reason to change the
dream. Like it or not, we are all after the same thing
- well-being. People just pursue it in so many different
ways. And most of these ways don't actually lead to
a long term version of the real deal.
So
what does lead to well-being? I mean real well-being?
The most extraordinary kind of well-being imaginable?
Take some time to think about this, because it's really
the ultimate question. And if you figure it out, don't
be afraid to take action because you are far more able
than you may realize.
We
sat again today and reached deep into ourselves. I can't
speak for everyone else, but I know that personally,
I have wars within my own psyche. I'm not always aware
of these wars or tensions, but they are there, and the
longer I meditate, the clearer they become. Every thought
I have, every action I take - even these right now -
are tainted by the impurity of these internal wars.
How
can I demand peace of others when I don't have true
peace within? I can't - that is, without playing mind
games.
Tonight
was the coldest night so far. Our circle was expanded
by a few new faces. All of us sat there, with great
sincerity, in front of the City Hall, changing the dream.
